We are busy firming up the ring events for 2008 and these will include our normal displays as well as special single cylinder tractor and Land Rover displays. Watch this space for more datails as the rally progresses.

Ring Events 2007

On Saturday you can steer a steam engine in the ring from 11.30 until 12.30, when the tractor parade starts. This is followed at 1.15 by the classic cars. There will be well over a hundred cars, so that should take us through to about 2.30.

Then it’s time for the Grand Parade of Steam. The Commercials and Military vehicles take centre stage at 3.30, and at 4.00 the ring will be cleared for steam again with the parade of Burrell Gold Medal tractors.

The vintage and veteran car parade starts at 4.45, and the official ring events conclude with the motorcycle free for all at 5.15. When the motorcycles are finished, the ring will be made available to any steam engines that would like to use it, before they make way for the hot air balloons at about 6.30. Of course, the balloons will only be able to fly when the weather is exactly right, so let’s hope it’s clear skies and calm winds.

First up on Sunday is the tractor driving contest at 10.30. Then come the steam engine rides and tractors as on Saturday. Next up will be the Commercials and Military at 1.15, with the steam engine parade starting at 1.45 and finishing at 2.45. Then there is half an hour of motorbike madness followed by the return of the Burrell God Medal steam tractors. The Vintage and veteran cars are on at 4.00 and, to round it all off, the classic cars do their thing from 5.15 onwards.

Needless to say, the programme is subject to change, particularly if the weather intervenes.

Programme

Each year, the Rally Committee produces a high-quality programme. These can be purchased at the entrances to the site or from the souvenir stand.

At the stand you can also purchase Rally Branded merchandise including, baseball caps, Polo Shirts, Sweatshirts, China Collectors Thimbles, Tankards, Models, Tea Towels, stickers and more.
