Woodcote Rally 2020 Cancelled

SCROLL

It is with sadness and regret that we must announce that, in light of everything that’s currently going on around the country and the world, this year’s Woodcote Rally is cancelled.

This is not a decision that’s been taken lightly by the trustees, but it’s the right decision with all of the uncertainty of how long it will be until things return to something like normal.

The trustees and committee members wish everybody well and hope you all remain safe in these unprecedented times.

You can read the statement from the Woodcote Rally trustees below.

Statement Concerning the 2020 Woodcote Rally

The trustees of the Woodcote Charitable Association have decided that this year’s Woodcote Rally should be cancelled in the light of the Coronavirus situation. The Rally was due to be held over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of July and usually welcomes thousands of visitors and exhibitors through its gates. However, the trustees felt that, given the current uncertainty, it might not be possible to guarantee the heath and safety of everyone on the field. They therefore regrettably took the decision now to cancel the Rally before any significant financial commitments had been made.

The Rally has been an annual event since 1964. It has only had to be cancelled once before, in 2012, when the field was waterlogged.

Since its inception, the Rally has raised over half a million pounds, all of which has been donated to local good causes.

The trustees and volunteers who work on the Rally committee are determined that, all being well, the Rally will return next year, when the dates will be the 10th and 11th July, 2021

Peter Solomons
Chairman
Woodcote Charitable Association.
